Dear…on Dead Ends

Dear… is an independent architectural and spatial practices publication, motivated to inspire and cultivate meaningful debates across international networks of spatial practitioners; all of whom share particularly humanistic and social concerns and approaches in their praxes.

The Dear… idea came about amongst people with a desire to uncover critical, personal and imaginative thoughts. We want to encourage those who may not normally publish to bring thinking into the act of making. The publication will contribute to architectural debate and dialogue by offering room for doubt and motivation.

Dear…on Dead Ends, issue #2, 2012

In the second issue of Dear… 16 contributors, representing nine nations, address both universal and particular questions and issues arising out of speculations upon the wider thematic of Dead End(s). Through their diverse array of works, one encounters and explores Dead End(s) as – amongst other things – expressions of cessation and closure, changes in direction and momentum, as well as instigations and openings. This issue interweaves spatial projects and theoretical reflections that mutually address and embody the theme’s double entendre.

Dear… is co-edited and co-founded by Courtney D. Coyne-Jensen, Heidi Svenningsen Kajita, Johan Carlsson and Masashi Kajita
