The affectional architectural specifications are a way to hack building regulations in order to write down a material report in a more inclusive way, by incorporating some personal reflections and research into a common built project.
Affection could be described as a feeling of fondness, liking and caring for someone or something. It is used here as a baroque extrapolation of the word ‘affect’, which in an architectural context may refer to the use and wear of a built environment.
By combining a more protocolar and strict working document with creative and poetic writing, the result ends in a rigorous paper with guidelines on how to build a brick floor with delicate joy and sensitivity. Text extract by Damir Draganic ( 2016)
